The 7th Annual Winter Bike Party is now the 1st Annual Winter Bike Challenge

This year we’re changing the format. Instead of one night to celebrate cycling through winter, we’re going to spread that love over 5 months.

You’ll have from the beginning of November to the end of March to complete 20 goals from the Winter Bike Challenge card by posting selfies to your social networks. Challenges involve sponsor stops, selfie-guided activities, and group meetups. Complete all 20 goals and you will have a chance to win an exclusive, available-this-year-only mid-weight cycling jacket (design coming soon).

Join us for the kickoff, at Great Lakes Distillery (616 W. Virginia St.) on November 3rd from 6:30-9:00 to get your Challenge Card, Winter Bike Survival Zine, and 2015-2016 Winter Bike Sticker (and check off your first challenge while you’re at it).

The cost to participate in the Winter Bike Challenge is totally FREE, but if you want to win a jacket, the cost is $20. If in the end you don’t win the jacket, you can still put that $20 towards the full cost of one anyway, provided you’ve completed all 20 challenges.

Sound good? You can RSVP to the event on Facebook.

Many thanks to our sponsors, Rebel Converting and Daniel E. Goldberg of WIBikeLaw.com for helping make the jackets possible. We are still looking for more sponsors (they’ll get 5 months of fun social activity for only $500), so if you know of a company who might be interested, let us know.

    • Greetings,I am a MKE native lvinig in DC. If you are going to the National Bike Summit (3/8-3/10), I have a bike for you to borrow. I follow your blog at every post and am happy that you did not discontinue this very important hobby of yours. I lived in Washington Heights on 48th and Lloyd for years and find catharsis (or schafenfreud depending on the weather) hearing of your expolits. Please keep up the good work and please take me up on that loaner. I still got Wisconsin’s back.
